A conference dedicated to analysis of prospective investment potentials of Georgia was held on November 17, 2011 in Tbilisi under the aegis of The Economist- a reputable global trade magazine.

About 150 delegates arrived for participation in the event, including Prime Minister of Georgia Nika Gilauri, Minister of Finances Dimitri Gvindadze, Minister of Economy Vera Kobalia and the representatives of reputable world financial organizations, such as World Bank (WB), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and others. PASHA Bank took part in the work of the summit as well, represented by a delegation headed by Chairman of Board Farid Akhundov. In addition PASHA Bank ensured the registration and participation in the summit of the Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Georgia and of a number of its customers.

Mr. Asad Aslam, WB Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Mr.Paul-Henry Forester, EBRD Country Director for Moldova and Belarus, Mr. Gred Lenga, Knauf Group Executive Director for CIS countries, Mr. Irakli Gilauri, General Director of the Bank of Georgia and many others addressed the foreign delegates. The delegates agreed that, Georgia can become a favorable country for making large-scale investments in near future.

In general, "The Economist" Summit organizers set a goal to demonstrate the potential of Georgian market economy and to provide opportunities for conducting business and making investments in this country in the areas interesting for foreign investors. During the event, both the representatives of the Georgian Government and the investors had discussed most important and vital issues related to the economic reforms conducted in this country, growing of economic potential, enhancing attractiveness of the investment environment and etc. At the Summit, the delegation of PASHA Bank had arranged a number of important meetings and negotiations that resulted in establishment of new business relations.

It should be noted that the organizers of the event arranged a special lunch for VIP sponsors and lead speakers on the day before the Summit where PASHA Bank was represented by Farid Akhundov and Anar Ismaylov. On completion of "The Economist" Summit, a gala reception was held for Summit participants in the residence of the Ambassador of Japan in Georgia.
