Pasha Bank finances an education training for journalists on business and finance journalism organized by British Council, Azerbaijan Media Center and Thomson Foundation. The purpose of the project is to increase the professional knowledge and skills of local media representatives (television, printing and electronic media) on business and finance journalism through a specifically designed in-depth education program.

10 participants will be selected to attend the trainings to be conducted starting from July 2011. During the training the most active participants are expected to go to study tour in Cardiff/London UK. The project is open to journalists located in Baku as well as the media workers living outside in the regions.

Program is focused on enhancing such skills and competencies as styles of story writing, feature writing skills, news reporting, interviewing techniques and practices.

The training will cover the subjects such as economic journalism, business journalism, code of conduct, and correct and balanced passage of information.

Eligible participants must have at least 2 years of working experience in journalism, be working for national broadcast, print, electronic periodical or online media; have adequate level of English language proficiency, be available for 3 training sessions in Baku with 5 full days each session and for 4-5 day study visit to the UK.
